NIH HiSTEP - High School Scientific Training and Enrichment Program

HiSTEP is a paid 6-week summer internship at the National Institutes of Health for rising high school seniors interested in biomedical sciences and STEM careers. Designed for students with little to no prior out-of-school STEM experience. Includes lab work, career exploration, and mentorship. Stipend provided. Application opens fall 2026. Deadline: typically January 2027.
